Roof workstations for buses

Working safely on bus roofs: FFG offers solutions that fit every workshop.

The new technology in hybrid, electric and fuel cell buses is mainly located on the vehicle roof. For this purpose, we have developed special roof workstations that also meet the high demands of safety and ergonomics. The experience of our workshop employees in the daily use of our roof workstations is continuously incorporated into further development and optimization.

The material and the necessary tools are located where they are needed: on top of the roof. For employees, this means not only more safety at work, but also significant time savings.

Today, FFG roof workstations are used in many workshops and are an ideal replacement for mobile scaffolding. Each roof workstation is planned and manufactured by us individually, taking into account the conditions on site.

Technical features of the roof workstations

  • FFG's stationary rooftop workstations provide a work platform with fall protection on both sides of the bus over a length of 12 to 45 meters. Safety railings at the front and rear of the vehicle provide additional protection when scaling the bus roof.
  • Extendable elements can be individually positioned on the bus side wall via electric cylinders after the buses have been positioned. The height of the working platform varies according to the customer's requirements and depending on the local conditions.
  • A passage width of 3.5 meters provides sufficient space for the vehicle. The work surface is equipped with separately extendable, 6- meter long push-out elements on each side of the platform. These elements can be extended up to 60 centimeters after the bus is parked in its proper position. This creates a spacious and safe workplace around the vehicle roof.
